Most air fresheners fade in 7–10 days. Whitix gel fresheners are engineered to release fragrance steadily for up to 45 days. Here's the chemistry — and how to make the most of it.
The problem with spray-only fresheners
Aerosol sprays give an instant hit and disappear in minutes. The scent doesn't cling to the room — it lands on surfaces, oxidises and fades. You end up spraying every few hours.
Gel matrix + micro-encapsulated oils
Whitix gel fresheners suspend high-quality fragrance oils inside a water-gel matrix. As the gel slowly evaporates (it's designed to lose only 2–3% of its mass per day), the encapsulated oils are released at a steady rate. That's what creates the flat, 45-day fragrance curve instead of a sharp peak and drop.
Choose the right scent for the room
Aqua Wave and Forest Whisper suit living rooms and entryways — clean and neutral. Sacred Sandalwood belongs in pooja rooms and studies. Juicy Peach and Lush Gardenia are made for bedrooms. Japanese Cherry Blossom is the crowd favourite for bathrooms.
Pro tip
Layer a spray on top of a gel. The spray handles the first 30 seconds of freshness; the gel sustains it. Together they feel like a much more expensive fragrance system.
Where to place them
Off the floor, out of direct sunlight, near an air current. On top of a WC cistern, on a bathroom shelf, on the AC intake trim, or near a doorway. Airflow moves the fragrance around the room; sunlight and heat accelerate evaporation and shorten life.
Getting the full 45 days
Rotate the lid to the smallest opening for the first week (the fragrance is strongest then), open it wider from week 2 onwards, and fully open for the final two weeks. This levels out perceived intensity across the life of the pack.
